Orca Whales in the San Juans

On September 3rd, while returning from a family trip, we were given a special treat. Aboard the 5:20pm sailing from Anacortes to Friday Harbor, on the eastern side of Rosario Strait, we came upon a pod of Orcas. The Captain stopped the ferry and we all got a chance to see these fantastic creatures at play in the water.

I shot this footage from the car deck of the ferry with our handycam. It's a pretty big file, so you'll have to wait for it to download, but it's worth it if you've never seen the whales in the San Juans. Our apologies for the image quality, but we wanted to keep the file as small as possible.
